No genuine match will ask you for money, gift cards, crypto, UPI transfers or "investment" help, however convincing the story. TrueTrust is free, so nobody needs to pay for anything here. Report anyone who asks.

Protect your details

• Keep chats on TrueTrust until you know someone well.
• Never share OTPs, bank details, Aadhaar or PAN numbers, or your home address.
• Be wary of anyone who pushes to move to WhatsApp or Telegram straight away.

Before you meet

• Have a video call first. It's the easiest way to confirm someone is who they say they are.
• Look for the blue verified badge.
• Tell a friend where you're going, who you're meeting and when you'll be back.

On the date

• Meet somewhere public and busy, like a cafe or restaurant.
• Arrange your own transport there and back.
• Keep an eye on your drink and your belongings.
• Leave whenever you feel uncomfortable. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
